Located in the heart of Newport’s Historic waterfront. Just foot steps from all the finest restaurants and shops. Located off Thames Street, across from the harbor, and just below St. Mary’s Church; where President Kennedy married Jacqueline Bouvier in 1953. 28 Fair Street is listed on the National Historic Register. Fair Street, is located off Thames Street, in Downtown Newport. It is one of the original streets in Newport, dating back to the early 1700’s. The property was originally owned by Edward Wanton (1631-1716), one of Newport’s earliest settlers. Today the home still boasts most of its original detail throughout this gracious home. The parlor and dining rooms, where breakfast is served, have all original wood floors, fireplaces, and moldings, plus the twelve-foot ceiling. These rooms are available for your use.

The majority of our guests have previously stayed with us or were referred by a previous guest. We truly do have the location. Located on a quiet side street, just below St Mary’s Church on Spring St and set off Thames Street, by about two hundred feet. Our location is like an island oasis amid the hustle and bustle of this active Seaport town.

Our full breakfast is served and prepared by the innkeepers each day. The daily entrées will include a choice of eggs, ham, bacon, sausage and/ or corn beef hash. Garnished daily with fresh flowers or herbs from the greenhouse. Also pancakes or French toast, plus seasonal fruits, juice and choice of toasts. There are cold cereals, and often oatmeal. And of course our very popular coffee, an a assortment of teas.
